 e the inability of an individual or a community to respond in a healthy wa
 y physically\, emotionally\, and mentally to acute or chronic stress. Beco
 ming 'trauma-informed' means recognizing that people often have many diffe
 rent types of trauma in their lives. People who have been traumatized need
  support and understanding from those around them. Often\, trauma survivor
 s can be re-traumatized by well-meaning caregivers and community service p
 roviders.\nParticipants will:\n~ Learn about the physiological impacts of 
 trauma on the brain and possible emotional\, behavioral\, social and intel
 lectual/academic impacts on students in foster care (e.g.\, attachment iss
 ues\, externalized behaviors\, disabilities\, etc.)\n~ Learn about trauma 
 triggers and behaviors\n~ Learn tools & basic parenting techniques that wo
 rk with children & teens who have been traumatized\nA little information a
 bout our trainers: Cristina has worked in the fields of child welfare and 
 education for over a decade. Cristina completed a Master's degree in Publi
 c Policy and Administration from California Lutheran University\, and is c
 urrently completing an Ed.D. at Pepperdine University. Anjelica spent most
  of her teenage years in foster care. She is currently a senior at CSUCI w
 orking towards a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and is raising a 4-year-o
 ld daughter. Amber spent her early childhood in foster care before being a
 dopted into a home that interfaced with over 200 foster children. Amber is
  currently attending college and will graduate with a Bachelors in Sociolo
