Cassie Fernandez joined CASA of Ventura County as Executive Director in 2020 with a wealth of experience and background in the nonprofit arena — most recently as Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Golden Empire. Before that, she was the Kern County Sheriff's Activities League director, a program dedicated to improving children's lives in underserved areas. Cassie studied Business Management, earned her Bachelor's, and completed her Master of Business Administration days before her fourth child was born. Her background allows her to be an excellent leader for the program, as she wholeheartedly believes in CASA's mission: that every court-dependent abused or neglected child should be safe, have permanence and the opportunity to thrive, and have a strong, compassionate volunteer Advocate. She started her advocacy more than a decade ago advocating for special needs children and has a passion for service. Cassie and her husband have four children. When she's not busy with her children's sports and activities, Cassie enjoys gardening and thrifting.
