Due to pervasive bias, transgender and gender nonconforming youth are significantly overrepresented in foster care compared to their numbers in the general population. Come learn about how to support these youth. The webinar will provide an overview of relevant terms and concepts, data on disparities and disproportionality, and cover the legal rights of transgender foster youth. The webinar will also include best practices for working effectively and respectfully with transgender and gender nonconforming youth, and resources for addressing common challenges.
