Ask Me Anything: Stress, Self-Care, and Showing Up for Youth

Wednesday, September 24, 2025
12:00 pm1:30 pm

Presented by California CASA
Sometimes, the most valuable learning comes from the questions we carry. This open-format session invites CASA advocates into a live, facilitated conversation space where they can share real challenges, ask nuanced questions, and reflect on what it means to support youth while also supporting themselves. The session will center around the themes of stress, regulation, resilience, and giving care to both youth and the advocates themselves. Rather than a traditional presentation, this session will be guided by the interests and needs of attendees, while offering trauma-informed structure to keep the space supportive and focused.

This Q&A will:
Create space for authentic dialogue around the emotional and practical realities of CASA advocacy
Address common dilemmas and stress points, such as how to stay regulated when youth are dysregulated, what to do when youth bring up overwhelming topics, or how to navigate emotional exhaustion
Provide guidance rooted in nervous system science, emotional safety, and real-world experience
Help advocates connect their questions to broader patterns, building collective insight while meeting individual needs
Include gentle facilitation to ensure psychological safety, accessibility, and actionable takeaways
Whether an advocate has a pressing question or simply wants to listen and learn from others, this session will offer affirmation, clarity, and concrete tools for showing up with steadiness and care.
