Child Labor Trafficking & Intersections with CSE
Presented by CalTrin
Children and youth are exploited every day through labor trafficking, coerced, tricked, or forced into unsafe work for little to no pay. This issue is not limited to other countries; it is happening across the U.S., including California, and impacts both domestic and foreign-born youth. Labor trafficking often overlaps with commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) and even forced criminality. Traffickers prey on vulnerable young people, especially those with experience in foster care or the juvenile justice system. This training will help professionals and community members recognize warning signs, respond with trauma-informed care, and connect youth and families to vital resources. Participants will:
1. Understand child labor trafficking and industries of concern
2. Identify indicators and overlaps with CSE
3. Apply trauma-informed practices
4. Access local, state, and national resources
