The Art of Connection: What Youth Really Hear (and what they don't)
Presented by FKCE in collaboration with CASA of Ventura County
Discover from a former foster youth's perspective how you can create authentic connections through communication. Participants will examine common adult-youth communication that may be well-meaning but can activate strong and/or opposing emotions for youth. To connect on the youth's level, participants will learn tools that incorporate empathic listening and language that repairs. Through practice and consistency in communication, trust and authentic connection can be achieved.
