Trainer: Christian A Bracho
This training provides participants with an overview of key concepts and terminology related to LGBTQ+ communities, fostering greater understanding and inclusivity. Participants will also explore the role of faith in the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals, recognizing its significance as a source of identity and support. Additionally, the session will cover California laws that protect the rights and liberties of LGBTQ+ youth, helping participants advocate effectively within legal and ethical frameworks.
Meet the Trainer: Christian A. Bracho is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Cal State Long Beach, where he serves as Program Coordinator of the Curriculum & Instruction Master's program. He worked as a high school English teacher and new teacher
mentor for over ten years in Los Angeles County and received his PhD in International Education from New York University. His areas of expertise include LGBTQ+ communities, teacher training, and nonviolence education. His creative writing was recently included in the anthology Sana, Sana: Latinx Visions of Radical Healing and Justice
