Eating Disorders 101: Promoting Positive Food & Body Relationship in Kids & Teens

This training invites participants to reflect on their own beliefs about food, bodies, and weight, while learning to challenge harmful messages that are common in our society and can contribute to eating disorders.
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of eating disorders, including key characteristics and warning signs, and learn how adults can promote protective factors that support positive relationships with food and body image in children and teens.
Participants will learn:
• How societal messages about food and body image impact kids and teens
• Common characteristics and warning signs of eating disorders
• Ways to challenge harmful food, body, and weight beliefs
• Practical strategies to build protective factors in youth
• How and when to access professional support
CE Hours: 1.5
