Language of Apology
Presented by FKCE
Instructor: Renee Cervantez and Pam Lehtonen
Can you relate to this statement? "I said I was sorry! What more do you want?"
Just as we give and receive love in different ways, each of us also gives and receives apologies differently.
This training will highlight how to apologize in a way that is meaningful and respectful. By learning the appropriate way to apologize in a way that the other person wants to hear it, you can strengthen your family, marriage/partnership and your relationships with your children.
...But what if you do not want to apologize? We will address this possibility and explore ways to learn how to forgive and heal family relationships. We will also explore ways to forgive yourself.
Learning outcomes include:
Understand the five apology languages (expressing regret, accepting responsibility, making restitution, planned change, and requesting forgiveness.)
Identify the primary apology language for yourself and that of the child in your care
Better meet the needs of the children in your care by understanding their specific apology language.
