In-Service CE: Mindfulness – Helping you and your Appointee Achieve Balance in Everyday Life
Presenter: Jen Bailey, PsyD
This is a practical training focused on the practice of mindfulness in everyday life. Mindfulness is an experiential tool for decreasing emotional reactivity and increasing attention, focus, and enjoyment. Being able to maintain mindfulness can be crucial when dealing with challenging situations and environments. In this training I will teach simple skills that you can start to practice and apply right away, and that you can teach or model to your CASA youth. Most take only a few minutes at a time and can be done in almost any context -- driving to work, taking a test at school, sitting through a court hearing. These skills can also be applied to a number of interpersonal challenges. You will learn how to use the skill yourself and get tips for teaching and modelling it to others.
