CASA of Ventura County: The Brain and Attachment

Thursday, February 20, 2025
6:00 pm8:00 pm

Attachment refers to the emotional bond formed between a child and their caregiver, crucial for survival and development. Secure attachment fosters trust and resilience, while insecure attachment can lead to difficulties in relationships later in life. The emotional responsiveness of caregivers is critical in fostering secure attachments. When caregivers are sensitive and attuned to a child's emotional needs, it builds a strong foundation for healthy relationships in future stages of life, however, environmental, cultural, emotional and biological factors can affect the child's ability to attach to caregivers and the world. Participants will be able to identify these factors and learn how to intervene effectively.
