Preparing Emerging Adults for Independence: A Social Worker's Perspective
Presented by CASA of Ventura County and FKCE
Emerging Adulthood (Ages 18-21) is a time full of opportunities and challenges with young adults moving toward greater independence. As adult supporters our relationship with the emerging adult (aka NMD) changes as they become more responsible for their long term goals and their day to day responsibilities. The role of the social worker in the emerging adult's life evolves as well as they support the young adult. Join us as we here from an experienced social worker about how the role of the social worker of an NMD changes, how they support the young adult, and ways we can partner with the social worker and the rest of the dependency team to prepare the emerging adult for aging out of the system.
