Trust Based Relational Interventions: Overview
Presented by FKCE
Instructor: Pam Lehtonen
For children and youth who have experienced trauma, attachment disruptions, and hurt, trust is not something that comes easily — but it is something that can be intentionally built. Trust Based Relational Interventions, or TBRI, is an evidence-based approach designed to do exactly that. This overview training, utilizing a 36 minute video, introduces caregivers to the core principles of TBRI and how they can be applied in everyday caregiving to create safer, more connected, and healing homes.
In this training, participants will:
Explore best practices for children with attachment and trauma issues: Learn the foundational principles of TBRI and how this research-backed approach addresses the complex needs of children whose early experiences have impacted their ability to feel safe and form healthy relationships.
Build understanding to support your child's healing: Develop the insight and empathy needed to approach the children in your care with greater intention to meet them where they are and create the consistent, nurturing environment that makes healing possible.
Improve behavior outcomes through connection: Discover how shifting from a behavior-management mindset to a relationship-first approach leads to more meaningful and lasting change for the children and youth in your care.
