Building a Future Beyond Foster Care
Instructor: Dwayne Dunlevy and Anne Rodriguez
Preparing for adulthood involves more than learning to manage money, find housing, or apply for a job. Young people with lived foster care experience also need dependable relationships, opportunities to make choices, and support as they discover what they want for their future.
In this class, Anne Rodriguez and Dwayne Dunlevy combine practical guidance with Dwayne’s perspective as a former foster youth. Through a facilitated interview, instruction, and discussion, participants will examine how adults can support a young person’s goals without taking over, help build everyday skills through practice, and remain a source of connection as the young person moves toward greater independence.
