Compassion Over Control
Presented by Ventura and Oxnard FKCE
Caregivers may default to control-based responses when feeling triggered by a child’s behavior. This class teaches participants to recognize when their own fears, anxieties, or past wounds are influencing their reactions and provides tools for responding with mindfulness, patience, and compassion. Participants will explore why control-based approaches often fail with children who’ve experienced trauma, and how to build trust, regulation, and growth through compassion, curiosity, and conscious connection.
