Anxiety & Depression
Presented by Ventura and Oxnard College FKCE
Join our trauma-informed workshop to gain a well-rounded understanding of anxiety and depression and how it can affect the youth in foster care. Our instructor will begin by examining how trauma and abuse lead to anxiety and depression and how you can recognize the signs in the children and youth in your care, including warning signs of suicidal thinking, including what to say and not say. By exploring case studies and support tools, participants will learn how to respond in a trauma-informed manner that builds a supported and grounded identity.
By the end of the training, feel confident in your ability to recognize anxiety and depression, stay continuously grounded and supportive, even during crisis moments, and know what to do when a child is suicidal, withdrawn, or emotionally shut down.
Your Instructor: Anne Rodriguez is a trainer & master coach with over 20 years of experience training and coaching for organizations like Child Welfare Services, Law Enforcement, Probation, Youth Independent Living Programs and Rehabilitation Programs. She is also a Master Mindset Coach helping clients remove blocks to be their best self and live their highest quality life.
